Ross Haliday CANTLEY

Born March 27, 1930 in New Glasgow, N.S., passed away March 27, 2001, in Hawksbury, Ontario. Son of the late Isabel and Howard Cantley. Pre-deceased by his son David Ross in 1973, and brothers Tom and Colin, and sister Helen. Ross had a great passion for the sea and was active in sailing in Baie d'Urfe, Que. He was a committed fund raiser for the Penny Cole and David Cantley Fund at the Montreal Children's Hospital. He expressed great creativity with clay sculpture of shore birds and was a member of the Baie d'Urfe Potter's Guild. Fondly remembered by Carmen Lariviere, Beverley Cantley Merryfield, nieces and nephews Ellen, Donald, Ann, Joan and Isabel, and his many friends in Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Los Angeles and the Montreal area. A memorial service will be held for Ross in New Glasgow in July. Montreal Gazette, April 04, 2001
