Reba SAUNDERS

Gently on Thursday, March 29, 2001, in his 60th year, after a determined and courageous battle with cancer. Ray was the most beloved husband of Mary Edna (York) and the darling father of Emily Elizabeth and Annelise Marie. Ray was the son of Dorothy (Swift) and the late Reginald Saunders and will be missed by his brothers and sisters Ron (Pat), Nancy (Murray Bates), Kit (Archie Cloughley), Carolyn (the late Terry Sherman) and Wayne (Lucie Frigon). He is also mourned by his in-laws Tom York (Marilyn Harsh), Terry Durham (Christopher) and Beth McKibbin (Tim). Ray is also survived by his aunts Audrey (the late Art Ostrander) and Marjorie (the late Art McDonell) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by many friends and colleagues at Statistics Canada and the Monarchist League. Our thanks to our families for their love and support, to Dr. Margaret Farncombe and her team for their compassionate care, to Jim's shift nurse John for his dedication and patience and to the wonderful visiting nurses from St. Elizabeth's Home Care for their tender loving care and concern. Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean, (between Baseline Rd. and Bayshore Dr.) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. the family would appreciate a memorial donation in Ray's name to a cause very close to his heart.The Nicholas Tschense Trust Fund (through the Toronto Dominion Bank - Br. # 3295-0310115) or the Palliative Care Outreach Program, 1455 Woodroffe Ave. S., Nepean.
