Died April 11, 2001 at the age of 83 in Kelowna, British Columbia after a heroic battle with cancer. Mrs. Knoop was born July 20, 1918 in Victoria, British Columbia. Bunty and her four sisters, Jane, Freda, Roseanne and Joy who predeceased her, were daughters of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Bullen, a prominent Victoria family. Along with her sisters, Margaret attended boarding school in England. On April 15, 1939 she married Leo Knoop in Tonbridge Wells, Kent. At the beginning of the battle of Britain, Mrs. Knoop returned to Vancouver Island. There she awaited the return of her husband who served with the British Armed forces until 1946. After a series of military postings, which included the United States, Canada and Europe, Major and Mrs. Knoop retired to Parksville, BC. Bunty was both a homemaker and a devoted Christian whose faith was a living testimony to many who knew her. She spent the last year of her life at the Cottonwoods Care Centre in Kelowna, British Columbia and close to family. Her two sons, Peter and wife Donna, Bob and wife Heather and daughter-in-law Judith, survive her. Her middle son Roger, who died December 30, 1999, predeceased her. There are also 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mum will be sorely missed by the whole family. Funeral arrangements are planned at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Oak Bay, Victoria for June 16, 2001 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Ross Bay Cemetery. please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
