It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Gary, on Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the age of 64 years. Gary will be sadly missed by his wife Donna; daughters Colleen (Matt) of Texas, Karen (Keith) of Winnipeg, Laurie-Ann (Patrick) of Toronto, son Ryan and his cherished grandchildren Slade, Curtis, and Braden. He also leaves behind his mother Doris; brother Bill and sister Marlene of Ottawa, as well as sister Sybil (Maurice) of Toronto, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Jerimiah (1965), brothers Bernard and Charles (1959), first wife Kathlene and son Patrick (1968), brother-in-law Patrick Madden (1983) and sister Irene (2000). Gary and Donna were together for 18 years and fulfilled a dream they both had of living in the country. Gary recently retired from the South-East Veterinary Clinic, a job that brought him much joy as he loved animals, especially his dog Buddy, who will miss him terribly. Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 7:30 in the Ste. Anne's Catholic Parish, 162 Central Ave., Ste. Anne, Manitoba. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 20, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. also in the church with Reverend Fr. Edouard Bonin presiding. Private interment of cremated remains will follow at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. de Moissac and staff at Ste. Anne Hospital, Ste. Anne, Manitoba for their care and support at this very difficult time. Ottawa Citizen, April 17, 2001
