A resident of the Highland Manor, Neil's Harbour, formerly of Dingwall, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2001, at age 87. Born in Dingwall, son of the late John and Harriet (Fitzgerald) Brown. He was a member of the St. Joseph parish in Dingwall, was a retired fisherman and boat builder. He is survived by daughters Kathleen (Henry Gravelle), Ottawa, Mary Ellen Martens, Catherine Ann Brown, sons Leo (Kathy), John (Doris), Artie, Robert, all from Cape Breton, NS and James (Diane) from Amherst, NS, Robie, Halifax, Lionel and Jerome, from Yarmouth, NS, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Florence Beatrice MacLellan, daughter Ferne, 1 granddaughter, 1 son-in-law, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral was held in Dingwall, NS on Monday, May 7, 2001.
