Ruth sadly announces that her partner Bill, died May 3, 2001 at his home in Seeley's Bay, and wished to thank Bill for sharing with her his precious time on this earth. It was a great time. Thanks also to friends, neighbours and colleagues whom we knew and loved in Ottawa, Montreal, Pierrefonds, Port Hastings, Port Hawkesbury, Port Elgin, Toronto and finally to our "little piece of Heaven here on earth - Seeley's Bay". Bill (W.G. Hatton) Husband, father, friend, chemist, golfer. Born September 9, 1931 Married August 15, 1953, Ottawa, Ontario. Husband and love of Ruth Tripp. Father of Gregory (Rebecca) of Guelph, Louise (Alan Findlay) of Brockville and Philip (Mohana) of Victoria B.C. Grandfather of Grant and Carly Hatton, Calvin Findlay and Priya Hatton. Brother of Robert (Marilyn) Hatton of Ancaster. Nephew of Edna Magee of Oshawa. Uncle of Kim Puma, Bruce Hatton and, by marriage uncle of George, Richard, James, Michael, Douglas, Derek, Donald, Diana (Motyer), David and Dale Tripp. A Proud Canadian, he was predeceased by his American mother, Isobel Marsley and British father, William J.J. Hatton, mother-in-law Melinda Church Stringer Tripp, brothers-in-law, Frank and Howard Tripp, and sisters-in-law, Doris Lavoie Tripp and Gwen Smith Hatton. Bill believed "never a negative thought" and "this too is another adventure in life". Celebration of Life was held in September 2000 with his friend J.C. Paquin as M.C. Enjoy the NOW and prepare. See you soon. His home is his "work of art" and his career from being a Research Technician (the best dishwasher of test tubes and later, in collaboration with Dr. A.F. McKay, published many scientific papers) at Defense Research Chemical Laboratories, to E.V.P. of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited. (Chemical Company-heavy water) and Radiochemical Chemical (now Nordion and Theratronics Companies of Kanata). Although we lover flowers, donations to the Seeley's Bay Medical Clinic (c/o Dr. Debbier Briggs or the Canadian Cancer Society to help others in their time of need would be appreciated by the family. The family will receive friends at the Scotland Funeral Home, 27 Main Street, Elgin, Ontario on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday morning at 11 o'clock.
