(Ottawa Firefighter 1st Class "C" Platoon") On May 15th, 2001, the result of a motorcycle accident. Robin has flown away from us into the loving arms of Dan & Pop, his most cherished grandparents. Robin was 32 years young, and full of vibrant life and energy. Robin is survived by his loving wife and best friend Janet and his cherished dog Rusty. Also survived by his mother Carol Fortin of Edmonton, father Rick Douglass and step mother Sue of Merrickville. Also survived by his brother Jeff (Jackie) of Oshawa. Cherished and remembered with love always by his Aunt Mary Anne Mayhew and Uncle Mike Kisilieus and cousins Shawn and Ali. Also survived by Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Gary Douglass of Deep River and cousins Shana and Cory. Loving in-laws Joseph and Beverly Gil, sisters-in-law Jennifer Gil, Julie Gil and was favourite uncle to Katherine, George, Nadia and Alex. Robin was a dedicated husband, firefighter and friend to all who knew him. Surrounded always by friends and family, Robin was the light that lit up the room. Robin is survived by many, many friends who are deeply disheartened by his passing. Robin loved the North, he always said his heart was in Kenora with the many friends he came to know and love there. His hunting buddies (Sully, Otis, Pat, Al, Duke, Derek & Alf). Returning to Ottawa, his cherished "Valley", Robin came to know and love his many friends and comrades our "Family" "C" Platoon. He will be sorely missed by his brothers Jeff, Jim, Norm, Eric, Glen, Bob, Jean, Hans, Denis, John and many others too numerous to name. Robin spent numerous years with his Queenswood Heights pals and dirt biking buddies, life long friends who are ever sorrowful (Jeff, Jay, Jon, Pete and Dave). Robin graduated from Pembroke Forestry College and spent 7 years in Kenora and Dryden fighting forest fires and living the "good life", hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends. Robin returned home to join the Gloucester Fire Department and met and fell in love with his wife Janet. Robin was a shining light to all who knew him, his light will live on in all the special memories we all have of him. Sweetheart- you've flown away now to be my guardian angel. I know you'll watch over me and our petite ouiseau. All the love you've given me will live on in my heart forever - sleep peaceful my sweet.
