CSJ (Sister Rose Mary McGaghran) Sister Kevin McGaghran passed away quietly into her eternal rest at St. Joseph's Motherhouse on Wednesday, May 23, 2001. Sister Kevin entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pembroke on September 4, 1939. She was in the 62nd year of her religious life. Left to mourn her loss are her sisters in the Congregation, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins, as well as many friends in the following areas where she ministered as a teacher, principal, sacristan and visitor to the sick and infirmed from 1939 to 1999: Pembroke, Mount St. Patrick, Calabogie, Chapeau, Deep River, Quyon, Campbell's Bay and Barry's Bay. Sister came to the Motherhouse in October of 1999 and enjoyed her retirement after ministering to the people of Barry's Bay for a period of 30 uninterrupted years. Sister was always young at heart. She loved going home to Pine Valley for summer holidays and playing cards. Sister Kevin was born in Douglas, ON, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Agnew. She is predeceased by her sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bedard, Mrs. Florence Wren and two Pembroke Sisters of St. Joseph - Sister St. Michael (Anna) and Sister St. Thomas (Mary). Resting at St. Joseph's Motherhouse, Pembroke, after 3 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2001. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
