August 4, 1929 - May 24, 2001 David L. Rowat, of Ottawa, passed away on May 24th after a lengthy battle with kidney failure and Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; children David, Marnie, Robert and Stephen and sister Jean Birch. He will be dearly missed by his life-long friends Enid and Paul Xhignesse. David's academic achievements include the Quebec Provincial Silver Medal, B.Sc. (Bishop's University), Governor General's prize for academic excellence, M.Sc. (McMaster); MBA (Ottawa U). While at McMaster, David met Dorothy, whom he married in 1953. David's career in the public service of Canada spanned 36 years (AECL, MOSST, DFO). David's hobbies included cross-country skiing and woodworking. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home (3440 Richmond Road, past Bayshore), on May 25th, 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Service Saturday, 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
