Armstrong Olita nee Cappiello 1918-2011 - died on Saturday, October 29th at the Huntingdon County Hospital at the age of 93. Born May 16, 1918 in Fort Covington, New York to Andrew and Mildred (Brockway) Cappiello. She moved to Dundee, Quebec following World War II, with her husband Frederick Armstrong. Olita is survived by her children, Winston (Jean) Armstrong of Dundee, Quebec, Martha (Douglas) Ritchie of Sackville, New Brunswick, four grandchildren, Merrill Armstrong, Dundee, Scott (Melanie) Armstrong, Toronto, Ontario, Bruce (Lesley) Ritchie, Dorchester, New Brunswick, and Erin (Richard) Parsons, Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, five great grandchildren, Brookelyn, Ellah, Owen, Bennet and Sydney. Also surviving are a sister, Dorothy Keeler and a brother, Elton (Beverly) Cappiello of Fort Covington, New York, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband of 61 years, Olita was predeceased by brother, Bruce Cappiello and sister, Noreen Green, brother-in-laws Pierce and Winston Armstrong, Paul Green, Richard Keeler and sister-in-law Catherine Armstrong. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Rodrigue Montpetit & Fils Funeral Home in Huntingdon, with visitation to be held on Tuesday, November 1, from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place Wednesday November 2 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Huntingdon, with burial to follow in Zion United Church Cemetery in Dundee, Quebec. For those who wish to make donations in Olita‘s memory, they may be made to the Fort Covington Fire Department, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or the charity of donor’s choice.
