R.N. On Tuesday, May 29, 2001 - after a healthy, full life - at the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre, in her 93rd year. Cherished mother of Louise Holmes and Derek. Devoted Meme of Sean and Carrie, and Katherine; and proud Grand-Meme of Matthew and Samuel. Born Jeannette David in Rockland, March 5, 1909, she was the daughter of Joseph David and Olivina Florent; sister of Alice Tremblay, Leo (Laurence), Fernand (Alda), Laurette Chenier, Fernande Kennedy, and Juliette Nantel (Gerry); and was predeceased by Anna Tremblay, Cecile Desjardins, Regina Desjardins, Gracia Couroux, Adrien, and Lucie. "Ma tante Jeannette" to many nieces and nephews. Widow of Claude Cornu, Leon Amiguet, and Gustave Bisson. Jeannette graduated from nursing at the Hopital Sacre Coeur, Hull. After a long career in the region, she retired in 1974 as Assistant Director of Nursing at the Ottawa General Hospital. A source of strength to many, Jeannette's friendship and guidance, strength of character, opinions, and quiet generosity will be terribly missed, but the memories cherished. Family will receive visitors at McEvoy Shields Central Funeral Chapel, 235 Kent Street, Ottawa, Friday, June 1, 2001 at 1 p.m. Memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Donations to The Union Mission, The Salvation Army, The Ottawa Food Bank, the Elisabeth Bruyere Foundation or a charity of your choice are welcome.
