Passed away peacefully at the Father Lacombe Nursing Home, Calgary, Alberta on Friday, June 8, 2001 at the age of ninety-nine years. Bill was born on May 9, 1902 in Montreal, Quebec. After graduating from the High School of Montreal he worked and owned his own hat manufacturing company. He lived most of his life in Westmount, Quebec. After the passing of his wife and closest friend Rita, Bill moved to Calgary, Alberta in the late 1980's to be near his family. Bill is survived by a son Bud Agnew and a daughter-in-law Marg, both of Calgary, Alberta; two grandchildren Gary (Barb) of London, Ontario and Elizabeth (Al) of Calgary, Alberta; great-grandchildren Brett, Lindsay and Michael. He is also survived by a brother Jeff of Markham, Ontario. A Memorial service will be held at McInnis & Holloways "Fish Creek Chapel", (14441 Bannister Road South East, Calgary, Alberta), on Tuesday, June, 12, 2001 at 2 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Father Lacombe Nursing Home, 332-146th Avenue South East, Calgary, Alberta. Special thanks to Dr. Gordon Melling nd the staff at Father Lacombe Nursing home for their compassionate care given to Bill. In living memory of Bill Agnew, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, "Fish Creek Chapel", 14441 Bannister Road, South East, Calgary, Alberta.
