Marcel Joseph Lamoureux

LAMOUREUX, Marcel Joseph On Saturday, December 8, 2012, Marcel Lamoureux passed away peacefully on the palliative care unit in the Westlock Hospital. Marcel was born on April 18, 1939 at Edmonton, Alberta and was the oldest son of Jules & Leona. He grew up and farmed with his parents and brothers in the Namao and Fort Saskatchewan districts before moving to Cosmo, Alberta in 1959. Marcel married Margaret (Nemeth) on July 3, 1965 and continued to farm with his father in the Cosmo area until purchasing his own land in 1966. Together, Marcel and Margaret had five children and he actively farmed until his passing. Marcel was an inventive and creative farmer,and enjojed looking after all the animals. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Margaret; son Byron (Michele) Edmonton, son Gary (Marla)Blackfalds, daughter Christine Stewart (Chris)Whitecourt, daughter Deanne Jackson (Dave)Rochfort Bridge, son Leslie (Carly Fisher)Cosmo; grandchildren Quentin, Kayla, Tristen, Ava and Kayden (Lamoureux), Jacob, Samantha and Jessy (Stewart), Zachary and Emmy (Jackson); brothers Roger (Margaret) and Richard (Elenor) Lamoureux. Predeceased by his parents, mother Leona in 1998 and father Jules in 2004. A celebration of Marcel's life will take place on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11 am at the Rose Garden Chapel at Barrhead, AB. Viewing will be available after the service, and everyone is welcome to attend the Senior Citizens Centre for a lunch. Burial will follow at the Cosmo Cemetery.
