(Ph.D) 03 June 1947 - 17 June 2001 Passed away at the General Hospital, Ottawa, on Sunday, June 17th, 2001, following a courageous battle with cancer. Father of Matthew, brother of Judy Charboneau-Terry and Donovan of B.C. Born in Limerick, Saskatchewan, John completed his Ph.D. (Pol.Sci.) at York Univ. (1977), was Assist. Prof., Univ. of Tor., 1972-82; Visiting Prof., Univ. of B.C., 1976-77; Research Officer, Library of Parl., 1982-88 and consultant/writer/researcher for the Hon. Ethel Cochrane, Senate of Canada 1988 - present. He will be remembered by all for his intellectual and stimulating conversation, his dedication and commitment to his work, his overall generosity and thoughtfulness and his enjoyment of jazz, fine food and sports. At John's request there will be no public visitation or memorial service. A family interment of his ashes will take place in B.C. Ottawa Citizen, June 23, 2001
