On Monday, June 25, 2001, while travelling home from Florida, William Gordon Bain, in his 74th year; partner of Dawn Grainger; dear father of Catherine, Ottawa; Christine, Victoria; Timothy, New Zealand; Steve, Vancouver, and Bill of Ottawa; will be sadly missed by grandchildren Elizabeth, Alexandra, Christopher, Joshua, Samara, Soleia, Jessie, Arani, David, Taryn, Taylor and Melissa and great-grandfather of Mikayla. Mr. Bain served in the Canadian Army for 18 months in 1944 and 1945; with the Royal Canadian Navy for 10 years, 1945 - 1955; with the Naval Reserve, and had served in the Korean War. Mr. Bain was a member of the Brant Naval Veterans' Club. Friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, on Friday from 1 p.m. Service in the chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. Cremation. Ottawa Citizen, June 29, 2001
