OBITUARY Antonio Tony Zaccardelli 8 FEBRUARY, 1930 – 18 NOVEMBER, 2015 - Antonio ""Tony"" Zaccardelli, 85, of Manchester, loving husband of 63 years of Bertha (Simboli) Zaccardelli, passed away peacefully with his caring family by his side on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at his home after a long illness. Born in Prezza, province of L'Aquila, Italy on February 8, 1930, he was a son of the late Dominico and Margherita Zaccardelli and had been a resident of Manchester for the past 51 years. Prior to his retirement, Tony was employed for over 35 years by Lydall, Inc., of Manchester. Tony enjoyed gardening (especially vegetables), collecting model trains and train sets, and watching wrestling. Most of all, Tony was a family man who was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his entire family. Along with his beloved wife, Bertha, Tony is survived by a son, Peter J. Zaccardelli and his wife, Dorinne, of Coventry; a daughter, Gina M. Lajoie and her husband, Philip, of Storrs; two cherished grandchildren, Anthony Zaccardelli and his wife, Jennifer, of Vernon, and Angela Zaccardelli of Coventry; three adored great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Bradley, and Natalie Zaccardelli all of Vernon. He also leaves behind a sister, Maria Zaccardelli and her husband, Vincenzo, of Montreal, Canada; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Morrone of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, former co-workers, and dear friends. Besides his parents, Tony was predeceased by a brother, Ercole Zaccardelli of Montreal, Canada, and a sister, Nunziata Forgione of Prezza, Italy. Funeral service will be Monday (November 23, 2015) at 9:45 am from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Street, Manchester. Burial will be held privately at a later date in Montreal, Canada. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Sunday (November 22, 2105) from 4-7 pm.
