Passed away, peacefully, with dignity, following a brief yet courageous battle with cancer, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, July 5, 2001, in her 80th year. Survived by her daughter, Jeannie McLean of Kitchener, daughter-in-law Sharon Cahill of Kanata, her dearly loved grandsons, William C. McLean of New York and Kevin Cahill of Toronto and her son-in-law Bill McLean of Kitchener. Ina will also be lovingly remembered by her family of friends. Predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend Thomas in 1997, daughter Charlotte in 1971, and son Leonard in 1979. Ina will be remembered for her leadership and support in numerous community organizations. She was a compassionate mentor to many. She served in the Canadian Armed Forces and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 95. Ina served as Past President of the Confederation Club of Kitchener-Waterloo and also Past President of Probus Women's Club of Waterloo. She was affiliated with Power and Sail Squadron, was extensively involved with the Waterloo Regional Board of Education and the University of Waterloo, as well as many, many other political and community organizations. Ina's family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Ina's life will be conducted by The Rev. Harry Janke in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Tuesday, July 10 at 1 p.m. Reception will follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society. A very special thank you for the loving care Ina received from Dr. Bedrosian and Dr. Saunders, nurses Terriann Moulter and Susan Bauer, and all the other attending staff in the I.C.U. of St. Mary's Hospital.
