Claudette Marie Gracia Lajoie

McGEE, Claudette Marie Gracia (nee Lajoie) November 16, 1944 - July 21, 2007 It is with heaviness in our hearts we announce that after several years of serious illness, borne with strength and dignity, Claudette passed away at Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre. Claudette was the soul mate for 43 years of John Islay McGee, proud and loving mother of Natalie Michelle. She was the devoted caregiver to furry friend, Vagabond. Claudette was the dearly loved daughter of the late Anita and Edouard (Eddy) Lajoie, brother of the late Jean-Marc. She was sister of Francoise Lajoie and of the late Denise Lacelle. Aunty Clau was niece to Lynne Bennett and her children, Christopher and Ashley. She treasured her dear friend, Francine Brian, with whom over 40 years of joyful memories live on. Claudette retired from CFB Ottawa Rockcliffe Credit Union as Branch Manager after 30 years of loyal service to her members. She will be greatly missed by the number of friends and neighbours whose lives she touched with her compassion, kindness and gracious hospitality. Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Alicia Donohue and the nurses, doctors and caregivers of 5 West at the Ottawa General Hospital (Sylvie, Li Fang, Tara-Lyn, and Janeen) and of the 5th Floor at Elisabeth Bruyere Health Center (Jessica, Jackie and Marie-Pierre) for their gift of compassionate care. Friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes-de-Cyrville Roman Catholic Church, 1187 Michael Street, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with reception to follow. In remembrance of Claudette, memorial donations are gratefully received for Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia Foundation of Canada ( www.wmfc.ca ) and Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre - palliative care unit at ( www.scohs.on.ca ).
