Patricia Crookshanks

died peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, after a long illness. Born and educated in Scotland, she had a degree from Edinburgh University and immigrated to Canada in 1963 to teach school. She taught in several high schools for the former PSBGM, now the Montreal English School Board. She is survived by her brother Kenneth, step-nephew Paul and his wife Linda in Scotland. Predeceased by her husband Nicolas Welage (2007) who immigrated to Canada from Holland in 1959. Gardening was a great interest, as was the theatre, concerts, and travelling with friends. Pat was the person we all wish we could be - she remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and kept in touch with friends and family all over the world. She kept fit at the Dorval Community Centre, and participating in her favourite pastimes - Scottish Country Dancing as well as playing golf. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer and was always willing to lend a hand to friends whatever the need. Her love and kindness will be missed by many friends as well as nieces and nephews in Scotland, Canada, and the US. Please join friends to share memories in a celebration of life on August 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lakeshore Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore Road, Dorval, Quebec.
