(nee Rivers) Passed away quietly, at home in Calgary, Monday, August 6, 2001 after a brief battle with cancer. Dawn was born in Smiths Falls, Ontario, July 18, 1939. Predeceased by her husband, Henry Pharand, she is survived by her son, Cameron, daughter-in-law Gaylene, and granddaughter Michayla Cardow of Calgary. Dawn spent most of her life as a resident of Ottawa and started her career at the Canadian Bank Note Company in 1962. After an early retirement, she relocated to Calgary in 1997. She loved children and devoted her time both as a foster parent and a volunteer at Calgary Children's Hospital. She was also an active member and volunteer at her church. Dawn will be remembered by her sweet, gentle spirit, generosity and willingness to lend a hand with boundless energy. Funeral Services will be held at Strathcona Christian Fellowship (1411-69th Street S.W. Calgary), Friday, August 10, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at Dale's Cemetery in Cumberland, Ontario.
