At St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville, on Saturday evening August 11th, 2001 in her 89th year. Mrs. Brayton was predeceased by her husband, Dwight, a sister, Elva Bellisle and a brother-in-law Ivan Bellisle. She is survived by a sister, Verna Dewell (Jack) of Oshawa, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brayton worked for many years for the Federal Insurance Department in Ottawa. She was active in the Ottawa District Girl Guide movement, having served as Brownie Leader, Guide Leader, Commissioner and Camp Director. She also started an Air Ranger Group, the first of its kind in Canada. Mrs. Brayton also served as Secretary and Vice-President of the Civil Service Association. Friends will be received at the Judson Funeral Home, Athens, on Monday August 13th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church, Athens, on Tuesday August 14th, at 1:30 p.m. Interment Athens Cemetery at a later date. In memoriams to the Alzheimer Society or Christ Church, Athens, will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Ottawa Citizen, August 13, 2001
