Suddenly at Toronto Island on Saturday, August 18, 2001 in his 49th year. Larry Smith, dearly loved son of Mrs. Barbara Smith of Ottawa and the late Wing Commander (R.C.A.F.) R.Y. Smith. Much loved brother of J. Douglas Smith and his wife Judy of Santa Rosa, California, Susan Smith of Ottawa and Barbara Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Larry was a graduate of Laurentian High School, Ottawa, Algonquin College, Ottawa and attended Trent University in Peterborough. He was a member of the Southern Ontario Civil War Round Table, a proud member of Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. A celebration of Larry's life will take place at a later date. Donations made in memory of Larry to the Toronto Humane Society would be welcomed by his family. Ottawa Citizen, August 23, 2001
