Peacefully Friday August 24, 2001. Jean Paul Brooks in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Marie Anne Arseneau for over 58 years. Cherished father of Ann (Bernd Berger), Leo (Mary Lou Quinn), Jean Claude (Audrey O'Neil) and Rose (Gary Birarda). Proud grandfather of Jason, Tanya, Shanley, Sam, Breanna, Jennifer, James, and Stephen. Dear brother of Madeleine, Marcel, Gertrude, Gisele, Mireille, Pierre, Raymond, and the late Jules and Charles-Henri. Fondly remembered by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. J.P. Brooks was a veteran of the R.C.A.F. and a retiree of the Department of Foreign Affairs. He was active in the Knights of Columbus of Gloucester. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HERITAGE Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd., Orleans, (west of Place d'Orleans Dr.) on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral mass at St. Gabriel's Church, 55 Appleford St., Gloucester, at noon Wednesday. Private burial at a later date. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of the Colonel By Retirement Residence for their care and support.
