At the young age of fifty-eight, peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2001 at Richmond Pavilion, Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. after a valiant and courageous struggle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her husband, companion, lover, and soul mate of thirty-seven years Normand, her loving parents Bill and Eileen Doherty, her caring sister Maeva, nieces Sandi (Carl) and Shelly (Curtis) and very many friends both in Toronto whence Tiare retired and Montreal where she lived many good years. At Tiare's request there was no service as she wanted her life celebrated and not mourned. Private cremation entrusted to Royal Oak Crematorium. Tiare's passion will be remembered in her gardens on September 8, 2001. Flowers are graciously declined but those who wish donations in memory of Tiare may be made to Vancouver Island Cancer Centre, 2410 Lee Ave., Victoria, BC. Our deep appreciation for the kindness and care given by the staff of Richmond Pavilion with special thanks to Christine and Carol as well as to Dr. Kader and Dr. Lane.
