Suddenly and unexpectedly in hospital on Sunday, September 9, 2001. Born Kathleen Marguerite Perrin on September 15, 1920 in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Although she grew up in Halifax, Kay was a resident of the Glebe and Ottawa South for most of her long life. Cherished mother of Frank, Judy (Cedar-Wilson) and Paddy; treasured grandmother of Samantha and Nicholas; loving mother-in-law of Bob (Wilson) and special mother to Mari (Kono) and Krista (MacLean). Dearest aunt of Carolyn (Maguire) and many other nieces and nephews. Sister to Mary (Hartley), Mona (Tobin), Bill (Perrin) and Reg (Perrin), all of Halifax, N.S. Predeceased by her husband Frank in 1971 and by her sister Annie (Kelly) of Halifax and brothers Lawrence of Halifax and John of Winnipeg. The centre of Kay's life was her family. She was so proud of, and delighted in, her precious grandchildren Samantha Lee and Nicholas Francis. They both brought her such great joy. Kay was a true matriarch in every sense of the word. She lived her life to the fullest, always putting others' needs before her own. Kay's zest for life was seen in her sense of humour, her enjoyment of life's little pleasures, her welcoming spirit and her ability to always rebound from any difficulty that presented itself. Kay's tremendous listening skills, compassion and strong faith were extraordinary as well as her very positive outlook on life. She will be remembered as a true friend and special lady to all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
