Peacefully surrounded by family, on Sunday September 30, 2001, Art leaves his "little angel" of 50 years, Rita Ann (Jackson) to mourn him. Proud and loving father of Les and Moira (Rayner), David and Marion (Pierce), Rick and Rose (Faucher), Bill and Bridget (Cooper), Dan and Christine (Petrasek), Judy and Alan (Fletcher), and Stephen and Dominique (Chamsi). Art found great joy in his grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, David, Elisabeth, Ashley, Jacynthe, Fraser, Matthew, Anna, Jacqueline, Mary-Katherine, Alexander, Jaimy, Nicholas, and Natasha. Born in Ottawa on November 20, 1930, Art was predeceased by his parents Harry and Amanda (Johncox) White, brothers Steve, Lloyd and Les, and sister Frances. Survived by Beryl White, Kaye Mahoney, Lloyd Jackson, and many nieces and nephews. Graduate of Glashan Public and Ottawa Tech School, Art joined the Royal Canada Air Force in 1950, serving in Ottawa, France, Germany, Saskatchewan, and Trenton before joining Canada Post. His retirement years were spent enjoying winters in Florida, the Gloucester Senior's Centre, Elmdale Lawn Bowling Club, and golfing with family and friends. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Tuesday October 2, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, St. Laurent Blvd., Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at 11 a.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Gloucester Senior's Centre would be appreciated.
