(June 1, 1925 to October 3, 2001) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful, "unique" (how many great-grandmothers do you know still rollerskate at the age of 76?) mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Catherine Marie on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at the Ottawa General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late John Cooper (deceased March 8, 2001). Our loving mother leaves her vitality and love of life to her mourning children, Randy (Betty) of B.C., Barry of Mississauga, Jack (Heather) of Hamilton, Jill of B.C., Nancy (Pete Szkurhan) of Ottawa. Cherished sister of William (Wink) Morrice, Sylvia of Coldwater; stepbrothers Gordon (California), George (Hamilton), Dennis (Toronto); stepsisters Sally (deceased) and Suzanne (B.C.). Her eight grandchildren will find it hard to live without her, as will her 6 great-grandchildren. Cassie (10) and Jenna (9 months) of Ottawa will especially miss gramma's visits. We ask those who loved Cathy, as we all did, to share in the celebration of her life at the STONEY CREEK Funeral Home, 454 Highway 8, east of Millen Road, on Sunday and Monday. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Cemetery (Stoney Creek). Donations can be made to Covenant House, 20 Gerard Street East, Toronto, Ontario. It is with great reluctance Mom has hung up her skates. The Ottawa Citizen, October 6, 2001
