(1915 - 2001). Peacefully, on Friday, October 5, 2001 at the Jewish General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Manning; his children, Joy, Linda, Ted, Anne and Karen; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his brother Donald and wife Dora of Montreal. Bill taught school in Nova Scotia for several years. After serving in the RCAF during WWII, he moved to Quebec where he worked as a teacher of French, school Principal and superintendent of schools for the P.S.B.G.M. from 1946 - 1976. After retirement, he assisted in administration at the Study School. A resident of T.M.R. for fifty-one years, he was active in the Mount Royal United Church, Norman Mitchell Legion and the Curling Club. Visitation is at the Kane Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie on Tuesday, October 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday, October 10 at 11 a.m. from Mount Royal United Church, 1800 Graham Blvd. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Groupe, 5800 Cavendish Blvd. Suite 311, Cote St. Luc, Quebec.
