With deep sadness, the family announces that Gord passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2001, in Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, B.C. Gord moved to B.C. from Ottawa several years ago to live with his daughter and grandson. Son of the late John Alexander Campbell Currie and Violet May Mountford Currie of Rockcliffe Park. Survived by his daughter Cheryl Melodie Currie and her son Devon Bruce William Currie of Surrey, B.C.; son Kent Steven Currie and his wife Karen Ivany Currie and their two daughters Rachel Olivia Currie and Shannon Leigh Currie, all of Ottawa. Also survived by his half-sister Lillian Currie Thomas of Ottawa. Predeceased by his wife Agnes (Audrey) Watson Kent Currie in 1985, daughter Dawn Valerie Currie in 1958 and son Bruce Gordon Currie in 1986. Also predeceased by his three brothers John, Norman and Edwin. Gord was blessed with a very happy marriage to Audrey, the love of his life and had a wonderful family. Our sadness is comforted knowing he is reunited with Audrey, Dawn, Bruce, and his parents, especially his mother who died when he was four years old. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. (at Richmond Rd.), on Sunday, October 14, 2001. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, October 15, 2001, at 11 am. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Parkinson's Society would be appreciated.
