(Retired LT. Ottawa Fire Department) Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at the Saint John Regional Hospital in New Brunswick. Survived by his wife Gwendolyne (nee Cochrane), son Claude (Evelyn), granddaughters, Karen (Jeff) Phillips, Kimberly Anne (Andy) Dixon, and great-granddaughters, Ashley, Amanda, Kayla, and Jamie. He was born in England, 23 February, 1912 and came to Canada as a Home Child, at age 17. He was a 30 year member of the Ottawa Fire Department and returned to England as a volunteer fire fighter during World War II. He was a mason and an accomplished artist. A memorial service will be held in Ottawa at a later date. The Ottawa Citizen, October 19, 2001
