"I'm 76 and in no hurry!" Or so she told us Tuesday night at a special blessing for her. The community of l'Arche Ottawa announces with sadness the passing of Cecile Aube at her home on Wednesday, October 25, 2001. Loving daughter of the late William and Obeline Aube, formerly of Moose Creek. She is survived by her sister Eva Levesque of Gloucester and her aunt Ida Brunet of Casselman. Cecile was a woman close to Jesus who finally lost the battle against the cancer that could not keep her spirits down. Cecile left Rideau Regional Centre to become a member of the l'Arche community (la Caravane) in Green Valley, where she made her home. In 1996 she moved to the l'Arche community in Ottawa. She will be fondly remembered by the many persons who had become her family over the 76 years of her life. She had many special friends in Green Valley, Alexandria, Apple Hill, Cornwall, and across the many l'Arche homes in Canada who were touched by her generous love, her amazing memory, and her concern for others. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Francois d'Assise, 20 Fairmont Avenue (at Wellington Street) on Monday, October 29, 2001, at 11 a.m., followed by cremation.
