Eev. BA, BD Died peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2001, age 95 years. Beloved husband of the late Euphemia Daisy. Father of Lois Harper and her husband Donald of Ottawa, Marilyn Dippell and her husband John of Waterloo, Dr. Gary Houslander and his wife Mary of Waterloo; grandfather of Jonathan and Mary Ellen Harper, David and Maureen Harper, Heather and Gordon McGregor, all of Ottawa, Robert and Stephanie Dippell of Kitchener, Susan and Cameron Jenkins of California, Christopher and Ana Maria Dippell of Waterloo, Jennifer and Dean Taylor of Guelph, Jeff and Lori Houslander of Toronto, Beth Houslander and her fiance Christopher Lawrence of London; great-grandfather of Michelle Harper, Olivia and Zachary Dippell and Brianna McGregor. Also survived by his three sisters, Miriam, Dorothy and Margaret, all of Hamilton and three sisters-in-law Lillian Houslander of Sidney, B.C., Francis Houslander of Grimsby and Jean Houslander of Fruitland. Predeceased by his parents, John and Edith; three brothers, George, Ernest and Benjamin, two sisters, Edith and Jeanne and grandson, Jamie Harper of Ottawa. Bill was born in Goderich in 1906 and grew up in Dundas. He served his Lord as a caring pastor to thousands of people for over sixty years: first, as a Salvation Army Officer and Captain to corps in Campbellford, Glace Bay, Halifax and Toronto - then, after his ordination in 1948, as a United Church minister to congregations in Lemonville, Ker-Tapleytown, Hamilton, Bowmanville, Ancaster, Oakville and Guelph.
