At the McCormick Home, London, Ontario on Friday, November 2, 2001, peacefully in the presence of his family, Franklin (Frank) Reginald Fanning, age 86, of London, Ontario and formerly of Ottawa, Ontario. Beloved husband of Florence Ellen (Edwards) Fanning of London. Loving father of sons Robert (Enid) of Toronto, Richard (Jamie) of London and daughter Linda Van Sickle (Bill) of Regina, Saskatchewan. Dear grandfather of Ellen and David Fanning of London, Chris Van Sickle of Sidney, B.C. and Amy Van Sickle of Carlyle, Saskatchewan. Beloved brother of Dorothy Macpherson of Morrisburg, Ontario, Anne Summers of Winchester, Ontario and brother-in-law of Llewellyn Edwards of Calgary, Alberta. Fondly remembered uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Jane (Broome) Fanning and brothers George and Lloyd Fanning. Born and raised in Carleton Place, Ontario, Frank worked many years at the National Research Council in Ottawa as an optical craftsman in the Applied Physics Department. He enjoyed using his gifts as a fine craftsman not only in his work but also in the loving creation or many furnishings for his family, friends, church and others. He was devoted to his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, London, Ontario, on Sunday, November 4, 2001 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2001 at 2:00 p.m., also at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Canon Beverley Wheeler presiding. Interment will take place on Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Carleton Place, Ontario with the Reverend Gordon Peabody presiding.
