At Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, Friday, November 2, 2001 in his seventy-fourth year. Born in Evanston, Illinois in 1927. Long-time resident of Valleyfield, Quebec; Wilmette, Illinois; and Toronto. Beloved husband of Marion Nicholson (nee Horgan) for fifty-two years. Loving father of Jay (Vicky), Lee Anne and Corey (Kathy). Cherished grandfather of Emily, Tara, Bronwen; Alex and Robin. Dear brother of Patrick (Marlene), Tom (the late Phyllis), Dan (Nancy) and Vince, sisters-in-law Mary (the late Leo), Aileen Horgan (the late Major Gerald S. Horgan Q.C.). Predeceased by his brother Bob Nicholson and his sister-in-law Trish (Bob's wife) and sister-in-law Freda (Horgan) Haffey and brother-in-law James J. Haffey (Freda's husband). Mr. Nicholson was an Eagle Scout. He served overseas in World War Two, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War. He was past president of the Longboat Residents Association and past chairman of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association. Friends may call at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West (2 stop lights west of Yonge Street) Monday, November 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Monica's Church, 44 Broadway Avenue, Tuesday, November 6, 10 a.m. Cremation. Donations to The Community Fund of St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association, 230 The Esplanade, Toronto, Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
