Peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital following a short illness, three days before her one hundred and fourth birthday. Predeceased by her husband, the late Charles Gavin, her sister, Florence Kirlin, brothers Richard (Dick) and William (Bill), and her loving niece, Lois Bronstetter. Aunt Jessie will be sadly missed by her devoted niece, Carol, and husband, John Schultz, as well as Dick's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered with special fondness by her Schultz and Bronstetter grandnieces and grandnephews, and their spouses and children, all of whom wore her hand-knitted mittens and enjoyed her shortbread cookies. Amy, Precy and Ely, the caregivers who looked after her with such devotion, will sadly miss Aunt Jessie, as will their colleagues, Omega and Pilar. Her neighbours at St. Patrick's Square will miss her stories and her poetry. We always thought would be one more birthday party. Visitation at Collins, Clarke, MacGillivray, White, 5610 Sherbrooke St. W. (at Marcil) 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2001.
