C.D. Ret'd CWO and Canadian Corps of Signals. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2082. Served one year peacekeeping duties in Egypt. Peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer, in his 83rd year. Sadly missed by his wife Jean and his children Marilyn (Fred Albert), David (Debra), Brian (Diane), Robbie and Dianne (Robert Milne). Harry leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Lydia, Mary, Mandy and Helen, and his brothers Ben, John and Charles. As well several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Violet. A celebration of Harry's life will be held on Friday, November 16, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa). Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. What we'd give if we could say Hello, Dad, in the same old way; To hear your voice, and see your smile, To sit with you and chat awhile, So to you who have a father, Cherish him with care, For you'll never know the heartache, Till you see his vacant chair.
