Suddenly in hospital on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 with his family by his side. John Evans of Portland, Ontario, age 47 years. Beloved husband of Mary Brus,father of Michael and Corey. Dear son of Jack and Marion Evans of Ottawa. Brother of Bob, Mary Sue, Joanne, Kathy and Beth. Predeceased by his brother Billy. Grandson of Leona Moeser of Ottawa. Past president of the Kinsmen Club of Rideau Lakes. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Portland Branch. Resting at Scotland Funeral Home, Elgin, Ontario. Friends may visit on Friday, November 16, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass to celebrate John's life will be held at St. Columbanus Church, Elgin on Saturday, November 17 at 10 a.m., followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
