Retired Science Teacher and Consultant (Physics). In Etobicoke, Germany with DND in Ottawa, Science Consultant with the Ottawa Board of Education. Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital from colon cancer on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at the age of 64. Loving husband of Arlene. Devoted father and friend of Lisa (Robin Tarbet), Steven (Cindy Bambrick) and Suzanne (Victor Lopes). Also loved by his 3 grandchildren, Tiana, Braden and Holly. Dear brother of Joan Cornfield (Jeff Davison) and Bill (Gwyn). Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. His scientific pursuits and sense of humour will always be remembered. John was an avid traveller and believed in living life to its fullest. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogivlie Road at Aviation Parkway on Thursday, November 22, 2001 from 6 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, November 23rd at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. memorial contributions to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Center Foundation, 503 Smyth Road, Ottawa, would be appreciated by the family.
