Died peacefully at the age of 86 years on the evening of Saturday, November 24, 2001 following a long illness. Phemia spent her early years in Saskatchewan and moved to Ottawa in 1941 to work in the Treasury Department and CIDA until her retirement in 1974. In that interval she was joined in Ottawa by many members of her family. She will be greatly missed by her sister Edith and brother Stan; her sisters-in-law Ethel (nee White) (Robert), Kathleen (nee Brewer) (John) and Kathleen (nee Kapros) (Stan); by eleven nieces and nephews, twenty-one grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and two great-grand-nieces. The family wishes to thank all of the health professionals at Carling View Manor and the staff of Direct Care who provided care and comfort to our dear Phemia and her family. The family will receive relatives and friends at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Road on Wednesday, November 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery following a private family burial service.
