of Cumberland, Ontario Passed away peacefully at the Sarsfield Colonial Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 27, 2001 after a brief illness, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Nuttall, a printer from Montreal; they were married at the family farm in Deacon, Ontario near Golden Lake on September 18, 1929. From Montreal they moved to Cumberland in the summer of 1943. Devoted worker for the St. Andrews United Church and founding member of the local Golden Age Club, Clara was always available for those needing an extra hand. She often sacrificed her own needs for her nine children who greatly appreciated her enduring love and support. She bore misfortune with strength and courage and was admired for her honesty and straightforwardness. Clara's many talents included her exceptional quilting abilities, craft work, and excellent baking and cooking skills. Clara is survived by children Howard (Jean Doyle), Nova Scotia, Reginald (Ruth Simpson), Ottawa, Donna (Donald MacEachern, N.W.T., Ronald (Verna Findlay, Greely, Gary (Donna Smerdon), Cumberland, Bryne, Newfoundland, Gayle Labrosse, Alberta, Glenn (Pat Lopynes), British Columbia and predeceased by her daughter Dorotheen (Lawrence Scott). Her 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter will miss her support, love of cats and bats and most of all her many many stories. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 1st, 2001 to St. Andrews United Church, Cumberland, Ontario at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Dales Cemetery. The Ottawa Citizen, Nov. 29, 2001
