It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and Nana, Emma Jean (McClelland) Carey of Perth. Jean passed away after a brief illness at the Kingston General Hospital, Kingston on Sunday, December 9th, 2001 in her 83rd year. She was the much loved wife of Fred Carey for 53 years, and dear mother of Maureen (Sid) Pegg of Perth, cherished grandmother of Sheena and Jameson Pegg, Jacqueline, Peter and Ted Bell. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Doreen Macdonald and Vivian Lafontaine of Ottawa, numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Jean was predeceased by two daughters, Bette-Anne Carey on March 25th, 1985 and Janet Carey-Bell on September 22nd, 2001. Private services will be held for the family after which Jean will be interred in Beachburg Cemetery with her daughters Janet and Bette-Anne. In remembrance, contributions to the Foundation of the Great War Memorial Hospital, Perth ON or the Kingston General Hospital Auxiliary, 76 Stewart Street, Connell 1, Kingston, ON would be appreciated.
