Of Fonthill. On Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, St. Catharines. Beloved wife of the late J. Lawrence Byrne (1991). Dear mother of Lauree Anne and her husband Dr. Wayne Gruber of Fonthill and Gerald (Gerry) and his wife Judy of Midland, Michigan. Predeceased by her sister Louise Pate, her brother Martin French and her grandson Jerome Michael Gruber. Survived by her grandchildren Steven and Angus Gruber and Cindy and Jason Byrne. Eileen was born in Renfrew, lived in Ottawa for many years before moving to Fonthill. The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH Funeral Home & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines, on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. The vigil for Eileen will take place at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alexander's Roman Catholic Church, Fonthill on Friday, December 14, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. Interment at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Ottawa. if desired, a memorial contribution may be made to St. Alexander's Building Fund or to a charity of choice. The family would like to extend their thanks to the medical and nursing staff of both the Hotel Dieu and St. Catharines General Hospitals and to the pastoral care staff of the Hotel Dieu Hospital.
