Veteran W.W. II Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 480 Westboro Volunteer at the Ottawa Heart Institute Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre, on Wednesday December 12, 2001 at the age of 80. Beloved husband and best friend of Jean (nee Stanley) for 55 years. Devoted father of Carol Laughren. He was a special "father" and "grampy" to his grandson Shawn (Nancy). Great-grandfather of Christopher and Michael. Survived by his sister Betty and brothers Bud and Jack. Predeceased by his sister Margaret. Loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Service in the chapel on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
