aged 87, died peacefully and gently on December 23, 2001, surrounded by his family. He leaves a loving wife, Hratchouhi (Michaelian), son Philip (Joanne Jackson) and grandchildren Michelle, Mark, and Sarah Jackson-Brown. Born in London in August 1914, he met and married Hratchouhi in Greece while volunteering with Save The Children's Fund in 1947. Influenced by Summerhill School and the educational theories of A. S. Neill, he became a teacher. Immigrating to Canada in 1955, he taught in Saskatchewan and Ontario, retiring as a teacher to the inmates of Collins Bay Penitentiary, Kingston. He leaves many friends in Kingston, where he lived for 32 years. Our love goes with this gentle, peaceful man, who had a passion for social justice, a love of teaching and a talent for telling stories. We love him dearly and miss him.
