In Ottawa on Wednesday, December 26, 2001, in her 104th year. Born August 9, 1898 in Ottawa to Thomas E. and Elizabeth Burgess, predeceased by her sisters Kate and Dorothy, brothers Fred and Bill. Also predeceased by her husband Major Arthur Henry Hagar, who passed away in 1970 after 51 years of marriage, and by her sons Arthur, Lawrence and Eric and daughters Lillian (Radke) and Shirley (McCaffrey). Lillian leaves 3 sons Robert (Marianne) of Half Moon Bay, B.C., Walter (Joanne) of Ottawa, David (Margaret) of Ottawa and daughter Roberta Hagar of Ottawa, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Lillian was a Lady Shriner for many years and was busy travelling in her latter years to the U.K., Europe, Israel, Egypt and the U.S. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday, December 28, 2001 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Lillian's life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 29 at 10 a.m. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
