Peacefully at home, surrounded by her family after a courageous and valiant fight against cancer on Friday, December 28, 2001, Olga (Skotarenko) of R.R. #1, Metcalfe at the age of 78 years. Beloved wife of John Mensink and the late Gisbert de Hoog. Dear mother of Gilbert (Jackie) de Hoog of Finch, Lina Faust (Jim) of Osgoode, Rita (Neil Picard) of South Mountain and John Mensink Jr. of R.R. #1 Metcalfe. Loving grandmother of Gil (Marjorie), Peter, James (Tracy), Chris and Kimberley de Hoog; Melanie (John Byrd); Allan Chamberlain, Joanna and Jason Potvin. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Duncan Funeral Home, 6971 Bank Street, (formerly Highway 31, between Scrivens Drive and Metcalfe Corner) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Thursday to St. Catherine of Siena Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Spring Interment Parish Cemetery. Donations made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre would be most appreciated.
