Stella Belong (Williams) WEST GREEN HARBOUR, NS - Stella Belong (Williams), 85, West Green Harbour, passed away peacefully August 11, 2002 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Lockeport, she was the eldest daughter of the late Joseph and Grace Williams. She lived most of her life in West Green Harbour. She is survived by her son, Norman (Sally) Belong, Moncton, NB; daughters, Darlyn (Bob) Hardy, Dartmouth, Beth (Norm) Lamont, Dartmouth, Bev (Mike) Moriarty, Halifax; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Carl, Lockeport, Garth, Shelburne; sisters, Alina, Barrington, Charlotte, Shelburne. She was predeceased by her husband, Lockie (1963); daughter, Annie; brother, Larkin; sister, Bethalia. A person of tremendous strength and dignity, Stella led a life of commitment to her family. Her strong sense of spirituality, which she found in abundance in her garden and in nature around her, was central to her life up to the final days. After a courageous fight with cancer, she made a peaceful final release during a family prayer to join a glorious sunset. Visitation will be 3 to 5, 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday, August 14, in Huskilson's Funeral Home, Lockeport. Funeral service will be held 2 pm, Thursday, August 15, in Holy Cross Anglican Church, Lockeport, Rev. Mel Langille and Rev. Charles Bull officiating. Interment in St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery, West Green Harbour. Following interment, a reception will be held in West Green Harbour Old School Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Anglican Church, West Green Harbour or Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point.
