Raymond Assaff BATHURST, NB - Ramond Assaff, 64 of Vantassell Street, died Wednesday (July 24, 2002) at the Dr. Georges- L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst , he was the son of the Late A.J. "Tony" and Rada (Awad) Assaff. He worked in the family business , R. Assaff & Son Wholesalers, as an insurance sales man and in real Estate until forced to retire due to illness. He is survived by Angela (Smith) Assaff of Fredericton. Dearly loved daughter, Kathryn Assaff of Fredericton; three brothers, Donald (Murielle) of Ottawa, ON, Paul of Saint John, George (Suzanne) of Ottawa , ON; four sisters, Marie Assaff, Joanne Assaff and Georgette Assaff, all of Bathurst, Ruth Wherry of Ottawa, ON; several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Antoine (Tony), Robert, Michael and John. The family will receive friends at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst, on Sunday (July 28) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning (July 29, 2002) at 11:00 am from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew Street, Bathurst. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
