McCARTNEY, Mary Elizabeth (nee Sawinski) (Parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Parish, Oshawa and long time resident of 75 John St. Seniors Apartments) Peacefully after a battle with cancer surrounded by her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great- grandchildren on November 29, 2002 at Bowmanville Hospital at the age of 82.. Predeceased by her husbands Josef Poniedzielski, Willi Holz and Arthur McCartney and survived by her partner Stanley Duffield. Loving mother of Camile and her husband Morley Norton. Dear grandmother of Veronica Gibson, Lisa Norton and Lorraine Hickey. Caring great grandmother of Carissa, Veronica, Vanessa, Timothy, Tamara, Waylan, Tosha, Chantelle, Rebecca and great-great-grandmother of Ethan, Hayden and Jersey-Lynn. Mary is also predeceased by her parents Jacob and Elizabeth Sawinski, her sister Dorothy MacDonald and brother George Sawinski. Survived by her sisters Theresa Cook of Florida, Rogene and her husband Theadore Boileau of Syracuse, N.Y., brothers Johnny Sawinski and his wife June of Messena N.Y., Norman Sawinski and his wife Norma of Cornwall and sister in-law Laura Sawinski also of Cornwall and will be missed by her nieces and nephews.
