A celebration of the word service for Mattice and Hearst resident Denis Joseph Boulet, 46, of Notre-Dame Hospital was held Dec. 11, 2002. He died Dec. 9 following a lengthy illness. Born May 2, 1956 in Hearst, he was described as a particularly quiet, gentle person who enjoyed reading and bingo. Leaving Mattice at age 17 for Bradford to work in a clothing plant, he returned to Hearst due to health reasons. Predeceased by his parents Marie-Paul and René Boulet of Mattice, he is survived by: his sisters Linda (Harry) Levasseur of Jogues, Sylvie (John) Dupont of Strathroy and Julie (Bob) Rompai of Thunder Bay; brothers Jean-Yves (Aline) Boulet of Hearst, Mario of Kirkland Lake, James (Janice) of Oshawa, and Ricky (Amber) Boulet of Thunder Bay; and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Jean-Marc Pelletier led the service at the Salon Lafrance Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Mattice St-François-Xavier Cemetery.
